Overall, was happy with this app, the things which prevented the 5 star are:
- would like a loaned from as well as a loaned to
- would like a 'playing now' option and filter for an overview of what I'm playing at the min
- some barcode scans for UK games are coming up as European or US origin
On the surface, this is a nice and handy app, and I mean that as a compliment, it really is: it's layout is nice, it's database is good, but I don't like that you have to upgrade to a premium account for something as simple as off line viewing of your collection and all the little stuff. It's like buying a bike but then finding out you have to buy the bolts that keep the tires on separate.
This app isn't bad, but the Pro is the way to go sadly. And it costs $5.99, which is very pricey for a Collection app. Games are cheaper on the iPhone that this app. The app gets very slow, almost to the point where if you click on a game, it may take 5-20 seconds to just load it. It may even crash. That's another thing. This app crashes more than any other app I've had before. Another problem is that this app has a lot of different versions of one game, including ones that are from different countries, which makes your collection harder to sort out if a game you have is from France for no reason. Should have region specific games. This app is ok, but is riddled with bugs and flaws. I'd go to another one once I see another good app.
I upgraded from version 2.6 and had the ability to bulk scan (which I bought), and now I have to pay $5.99 to get it back?
I've tried restoring my purchase, but that doesn't work. Also, I have to pay to edit information about a game that the scan got wrong? Deleting this app. This scam artist won't get anymore of my money.
App just randomly deletes the list if games I made, after update. That's inconvenient as I now have to make the list again. It's wasting time if you ask me. It's an ok app. If they somehow manage to fix that, it'll be a 5 star app for me.
Update: Ok, must have been a server issue cuz my games are back. This app is a roller coaster.
Update: I only had around 15 games in this app for testing and tried adding some that weren't in the database, but I went to open up this app today and all my data is gone. Zero games show up. One other reviewer said they lost most of their data as well. This would be super painful if I had taken the time to bring in my entire collection. Sort it out, Sort It Apps!
At first glance this app is much better than the iCollect version this developer previously made. Looks nicer and has more sorting/filtering options which I was very excited about. BUT, sadly, just testing out the sorting with the 3 games they start you with proved to be pretty buggy. I could sort by "Last Played" in Ascending order, but changing it to Descending yielded no results? Also, even though it's listed, you can't sort by some other fields like "High Score" which is where I actually put trophy/achievement percentage. It just returns a blank page once again. Am I using it wrong? Multiple other sorting options seemed broken, while others worked fine. Considering I spent a measly 5 min testing these filters/sorting options and found a bunch of bugs, it just makes me wonder what else could be wrong with it. Many games are also not listed... no Sound Shapes? Anyways, I would love to update my star rating for this app once the bugs are fixed and the library gets a bit bigger. It looks like this developer is actively making updates which is why I chose to review this app. I really hope these issues are fixed as I've been hunting for the best game collecting app for some time now. This one is so close. Also importing from iCollect would be sweet! :P For now, I'll stick with iCollect.
The app is great for collectors such as myself, if your out and about and see a game you want but not sure if you have it already, this is a quick and easy way to check. The barcode scanner is great for cataloging your collection without the tedious work of having to input all the information yourself. I'd recommend this to all collectors.
